Hello everyone, today I am going to share with you an easy black rice recipe. There are two ways you can make it. This is the quicker way. It is so easy and delicious. These are the ingredients you will need
2 cups of rice
3 cups of water
3 tablespoons of olive oil
2 tablespoons of my homemade green seasoning. Or you can use any green seasoning of your choice.
1 teaspoon of paprika
1 teaspoon cayenne pepper
1 tablespoon of dry oregano
1/2 chicken bouillon cube
1 djon djon maggi
1 scotch bonnet pepper (optional)
Salt and pepper to taste.
Let’s get started.
Using a med size pot, saute between low and medium green seasoning, chicken bouillon cube and djondjon cube.
This is what the djondjon cube looks like.
P.S. : You can find it at those carribean supermarket.
Then, add water, scotch bonnet pepper, clove, paprika, cayenne pepper, dry oregano, pepper. Bring to boil. Add salt to your taste. Water should be black
P.S. The flavor of the water will be the flavor of the rice.
Let it boil, covered on medium heat, until there is no more water in the pot.
Cover the rice with aluminium foil, put the lid on, Then simmer on low for 20 minutes.
Just before serving, gently fluff the rice with a fork to separate the grains.
You’ve just made yourself some black rice. Enjoy with whatever you desire. I had mine with some cod fish stew. DELICIOUS!!! Enjoy
